Our Values
Freedom
Metro creates and cultivate new and innovative ideas with our approach to work environments from every seat and function. We are an empowered culture free from constraints and the old ways of thinking. We are disruptors. Freedom is in our DNA, it’s who we are, and is the essence of what we do. Freedom means the ability to take your design intent and to create a solution that exceeds your every expectation. We challenge the status quo and recognize that being Metro is a function of our attitude. We are proud of our heritage as the West Coast’s largest African American owned contract furniture dealership and certified MBE/DBE/SBE through the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Supplier Clearinghouse and State of California DGS.
Sustainability
We are accountable to our community, our customers, the environment, and ourselves. We act with integrity and dedication to the brands we support. We strive to align ourselves with manufactures creating sustainable and environmentally safe products at scale that meet industry leading green certifications and set the standard for environmentally conscious furniture.
Mastery
At Metro we are lifetime learners. We strive to continually improve in all that we do. We strive every day to be mastery at what we do, to foster a community of learning, continuous improvement, and excellence. We encourage all around us from designers, project managers to service providers to grow personally and professionally, to challenge the status quo, and to expand our collective skills and capabilities as an organization. We are Metro!
Community
In the midst of a post pandemic, we are also battling the current societal ills of racism, police brutality, and institutionalized systemic oppression. The killings of unarmed people of color bring to focus the injustices of abuse and senseless loss of life. As an African American owned company that values and celebrates the diversity of our community, we stands in solidarity with those in our community.
The Covid-19 pandemic and a looming economic recession has also plunged many charities into crisis. After a decade of growth, many have seen donations collapse, their investments shaken and demand for their services soar. This comes at a time when so many non-profit, especially those working with marginalized and vulnerable communities including communities of color are absolutely reeling. Metro feels it’s our responsibility to give back, because we’re only as strong as our neighbors.
As part of our pledge and commitment to our community, we support local charities by donating a percentage of every sale, directly to local non-profit organizations whose mission aligns with ours.
